As Verano’s Director of National Sales, Maria develops systems where, from concept to creation, she oversees compliance, distribution channels and logistics, packaging and order fulfillment, sales teams, merchandising, and all minutia related to a strategic top-down customer service experience.
Maria brings to Verano nearly two decades of sales management, manufacturing, and marketing experience from her work in publicly traded companies and private entities in the personal care industry.
Maria’s transition into the cannabis industry came after personally experiencing a life-changing turnaround from a debilitating condition thru the use of cannabis. This has inspired her mission to ensure others have access to the same medicinal therapies.
Today, she applies to Verano’s her expertise gained from ultra-competitive and diverse environs where she directed and refined multi-state sales teams of 300+ skilled consultants in a highly competitive market for a global leader in prestige beauty and luxury personal care products. She more recently served as Agent-In-Charge, and Director of Business Development & Marketing for a medical cannabis dispensary, where she shaped its construction and evolution into a thriving, customer-centric facility.
With her unique and dynamic approach to leading cross-functional teams, Maria has been instrumental in bringing unique luxury cannabis brands to scale in an unparalleled fashion. Maria works closely with client dispensaries to ensure that Verano’s portfolio of brands top their sales categories. A true steward of the cannabis industry, Maria’s is closely attuned to consumer needs and marketplace’s trends and is an active member of Illinois Women in Cannabis and other professional organizations to continually sharpen her laser focus on outstanding product and unmatched service.
